This is Why I LOVE Being a Health Coach
So its been 6 months since I announced my decision to become a health coach– and I am loving it! I feel so blessed that God has placed this stepping stone in my journey. Don’t get me wrong, I have had my moments of pause and question, but the big picture is real and clear. The last six months have been a validation of my passion for wellness, healthy living, and exploring disease prevention. I love being able to use my communication skills with clients while empowering them to address their intentions for health and wellness.
Brendan and I have reflected a lot lately on our own health journey and how much we yearn to touch more lives and spread our passion. The clients I have partnered with (and have now sent off into a new healthy, primal life) have absolutely blown me away with their results, commitment, and passion. I guess it is easy when your clients are looking and feeling better than ever (testimonials coming soon)!
You may be wondering: WHAT ACTUALLY IS A HEALTH COACH? You may be envisioning a Football coach commanding pushups and yelling a lot. But, that’s far from my role. Here is what I do and love:
I EMPOWER others to discover what health looks like for them.
I HELP clients navigate their health intentions and find solutions to issues that are holding them back.
I am a SUPPORT (without judgement!!) when there are questions, confusion, and setbacks. Seriously, the amount of information out there is overwhelming, and I get to help clients navigate all these resources and information.
Lastly–and perhaps most importantly — I HOLD clients accountable to their intentions.
I LOVE that so many of my friends and family have expressed interest in becoming healthier. BUT making real, lasting lifestyle and behavior changes doesn’t happen on its own. It takes ongoing effort, information, and support. And that is where I get the joy of sitting in the passenger seat and helping guide your way.
Basically, I am a change agent—
I provide all the support to help my clients make critical lifestyle and behavior changes aligned with health intentions.
My job is not to tell people what to eat and how to exercise better. We already have plenty of experts (maybe too many….) telling us what do do and how to do it. It’s not just about the information–if it was Google could solve all our problems! Its actually about the behavioral change, and that’s where a coach can really help.
If you’ve been thinking about making a change to transform your health but need a little guidance along the way, let me know. We can find a coaching program that fits with your needs. I’m happy to do coaching sessions when and where its convenient for you–in person, on the phone, or even online.
