Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
Happy Foodie Friday!!
Last week I shared my Bacon Broccoli Salad Recipe, and I mentioned that I love to serve it with with my air fryer chicken thighs. What I love about these chicken thighs is they always turn out delicious, they are easy to prep, and they are an inexpensive but healthy, primal meal. I always have a pack of chicken thighs in my freezer for a simple week night meal. Bonus – the kids are always pumped for “chicken on a bone.”
I like to make a big batch of my chicken thigh spice blend in advance to have in my pantry.
If you don’t have an air fryer, these turn out great in the oven too. If you’re looking to buy an air fryer, this is the air fryer we have. So many fun recipes with an air fryer – I totally recommend it.
Enjoy!
Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
This recipe never disappoints. The herb rub along with the cripsy thighs make it a winner for a week night meal. Its simple, inexpensive, and delicious.
Because I make this so frequently, I like to make a big batch of the herb rub to keep ready to go in my spice rack.
Ingredients
- 4-6 chicken thighs bone in
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp lemon pepper
- 1/4 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp coarse black pepper
- salt, to taste
Instructions
-
Preheat Air Fryer to 400°F
-
Pat chicken thighs dry and place on a dish.
-
Combine all the herbs for the rub in a small dish.
-
Massage the spice blend over the tops and bottoms of the chicken thighs.
-
Cook in Airfryer 18-22 minutes. Rotate halfway through.
Recipe Notes
Depending on how many thighs you make, you may need to double up on the spice blend.
If using a conventional oven just bake chicken at 375°F for 45-60 minutes. In this case, I like to use a baking grid on top of a cookie sheet.
This recipe may look super basic – but the combo of the herbs with the crispy chicken = perfection!
Enjoy.
